2014-2020 Assisted Areas Map – Key

Other 'c' Areas other 'c' areas

Background Information

The 2014-2020 UK Assisted Areas Map came into force on 1 July 2014. It includes Northern Ireland, which has 100% non-predefined ‘c’ coverage.

You can search for an area of interest by place name, postcode, Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), local authority or Westminster constituency. You can also zoom and pan on the interactive map. Clicking on individual wards will bring up additional information about the ward.

Ward boundaries on the Assisted Areas Map are those in effect on 31 December 2011 (single member wards in Scotland). These will remain static during the period that the 2014-2020 Map is in effect. The Map may not therefore reflect all current ward boundaries.

An introduction to Assisted Areas is available here, which forms part of www.gov.uk/state-aid

A user guide for this map is available here. Please email us with any technical problems relating to the interactive Assisted Areas Map.

Ward Display

For familiarity and legibility, this map shows ward boundaries “clipped to the coastline” (Mean High Water Mark). Legally, Assisted Area coverage extends to the “extent of the realm” ward boundaries (typically the Mean Low Water Mark but in some cases also including offshore islands) and these boundaries can be selected below.
